Life & Hobbies

Dr. Hurst was raised in Clinton, Iowa, a rural community on the Mississippi River in Eastern Iowa. There, he learned to love the feel of small-town life! During the years he moved all over the nation to pursue his education, he hoped to eventually find a place to settle that was similar to his hometown.

Dr. Hurst's first passion is his family. He has a beautiful wife and four children, and he loves spending quality time with them doing practically anything. He especially loves the outdoors and all it has to offer, from camping and hiking to swimming and boating. Dr. Hurst is an active leader in Boy Scouts of America, and he is an Eagle Scout himself. He also loves spending time indoors with good company playing nearly any type of board game or just laughing together.
